Another heritage house on 1st Street is now owned by Morley and Shirley Forsyth. Mr. Moses Paul built this house in 1900 and lived in it for a few years. He sold it to Mr. Rastus McLaren who also spent just a few years living here. Rastus sold the home to Mr. James Pierce in 1920. Jim and his wife Rose and family moved from the Dublin area to Reston. There were six children: Ida, George, Bert, Wib, and Doreen. A little girl Susan, died in infancy.

In 1959, Les and Ruth Parker moved here and lived in the house until 1968. Clarence and Bonnie Magnussen came to Reston, bought the house and stayed until 1975. That year Tom Forsyth who farmed in the Houston district, retired. He and his wife Edythe with son Morley moved to Reston and bought “The Pierce House”. Tom moved to the Alstone Lodge in 1997. Morley and Shirley and their family became the new owners.
